UNESCO Chair Educational Action "Creative Cities in Motion: Urban Sustainable Mobility and Utilization of Cultural Resources" led by Professor Dimitrios D. Vergados

On Friday 20 December 2024, the 24th Primary School of Ilion hosted the first educational activity of the UNESCO Chair "Creative Cities in Motion: Urban Sustainable Mobility and Utilization of Cultural Resources", led by Professor Dimitrios D. Vergados, accompanied by his colleagues H. Varvarousis, H. Maragoudakis and V. Zakkas.

The activity, designed specifically for primary school students, highlighted the link between cultural heritage and sustainability through interactive activities.

The Head of the Chair, Mr. Dimitrios D. Vergados, elaborated on the importance of the thematic unit, highlighting the role of students' contribution in addressing global challenges.

The research team, coordinated by Ms N. Malliris, Ms. H. Maragoudakis and P. Tsakona and members E. Arnaoutidou, I. Pengou, M. Tsiga, E. Vagena, A. Karokis, P. Patouni and V. Tziforopoulou, successfully undertook the implementation of the educational action starring the Caryatids-Cores, which was presented to the students of the 3rd Primary School.

The action was aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, linking the past with the future and promoting the protection of cultural heritage against the challenges of climate change.
