Vassilis Karamitsanis, President of ANIMASYROS International Animation Festival, is a highly distinguished professional in the field of culture and management, will give an interesting presentation in the context of the course "Management and Administration of Cultural Units and Organizations".


A few words about Vassilis Karamitsanis:
Born in Athens, Vassilis Karamitsanis is a graduate of the Law Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has completed postgraduate studies at the Universities of Rotterdam, Hamburg and Aix-Marseille III. He has been a lawyer in Athens since 2002.
His contribution to the cultural sector is multifaceted:
Since 2008 he is the active President of ANIMASYROS International Animation Festival, an institution with international recognition.
He was President of ASIFA HELLAS - Hellenic Animation Association from 2015 to 2023, contributing to the development of the Greek animation scene.
In 2018 he was made a Knight of the Order of Arts & Letters of the French Republic, a prestigious honorary distinction.
He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Greek National Opera - National Opera from November 2018 to December 2019, taking on a leadership role in one of the country's most important cultural organizations.
From 2025 he holds the position of Secretary General of the World Cinema Centre for Children & Youth (CIFEJ), confirming his international influence.
The presence of such an experienced and established professional like Vassilis Karamitsanis is expected to provide valuable insights and perspectives to our students on the management and administration of cultural units and organizations.
